And everyone here’s gonna miss her
She’s a friend to us all, and especially John Hall

I was really just kidding you on
Sam’s as good as they come, though she’s also great fun
When the wine flows a little too long
Like that time in the pub, when Sam just stood up
And walked up to the mike with a smile
We were all deathly dumb, ‘til she lit up the room
With a voice full of sweetness and style
She plays by the rules, and she won’t suffer fools
But she's the best sort of friend you can find
She won’t get in your way, but she’s there just the same
Yes, she truly is one one of a kind
Her gain is our loss, but our fingers are crossed
As we wish her a wealth of success
But whatever she does, she’ll always have us
Cos as friends go, Sam sure is the best
